I am on OPT. I have a resident alien for tax purposes as of 31 December 2006 although I was on a non resident alien status until July 2006. Do I need to file both Form 1040 and 1040 NR EZ or just one of them also how can I file it in turbo tax.
Do I Need to file 1040 NR or 1040 NR EZ?
Also Do I need to file Form 8843 but I came to US on F1 in 2001 I suppose I can't file 8843 I am confused with that please help

1040 EZ is an option, not something to file in addition to 1040. I'm no tax guru but I do know that.

As for how to file with TurboTax, just leave it to them to ask you the right questions and they'll fill in the right forms. One piece of advice, though: be sure to surf their site well to be sure you're buying the right TurboTax program that will address your OPT/F1 issues.

You CANNOT file Form 1040NR or 1040NR=EZ ON-LINE.

These forms MUST be mailed.

I recommend you get professional tax help by someone who specializes in taxes for foreign nationals!
