He is5 weeks old . For the past twenty four hours we have had to force feed him , we have tried water milk and egg yolk as per suggestions online. We haven't took kitten to vets as we don't drive , it's Christmas Day now and we have no money at all. I really don't want to lose the little guy.

What happened to his mother? He should still be nursing. DO NOT feed him cow's milk!! You'll give him diarrhea and kill him.

His mother is refusing to feed either kitten. The other o e is doing great. Eating playing and is massive. We have been giving him replacement formula.

Give both kittens replacement formula. If the one kitten won't eat, he probably has something wrong with him and will not survive.

Thank you , he seems to have perked up a bit since this morning . We have no formula left. But read on line egg yolk and water is good . Gave him some this morning and he has started wandering a little . It has given is some hope.

There is a lot more to it then egg yolk and water, here is whole recipe

2 oz evaporated milk
4 oz. water
2 egg yolks
1 tsp light Corn syrup
1 capsule liquid cod liver oil

Thank you so much I shall go to shop and grab stuff just now . He is a lot better moving around and happily taking egg from a syringe. Still wobbly and falling over a little but improved so much

Kittens can be weaned at five weeks; segregated from the queen at that time and started on a good brand of kitten food, normally chicken content on the label; same with good brand of kibble, Purina make a good kitten food. They should be introduced to water at five weeks and will play in it before realizing it is for drinking, same with food, play first, eat later and don't be alarmed if they eat their mom's food.

To the OP, the little one you are trying to nuture may be the runt and that is why it is not doing so well. It is not good that it can't control its walking at five weeks. I am sorry to have to say this but I know kitten litters so well, and have had some with distemper which for kittens is upper respiratory problems, symptoms being sneezing, runny nose and runny eyes. So keep a look out for this.

I wish you luck with that little one, it will probably be touch and go for a while until he is stable with a good belly full and getting stronger. Don't be afraid to start him on soft food.

The little one was eating, then suddenly stop . There does seem to be a problem with one eye but I have been bathing it I never thought it could be connected . Ts walking was weak but OK it was playing and getting around until it stopped eating, everything was just so quick to happen. Thank you so much for all your help.

Pets cost money.. more often than not, they cost a lot of money without any warning. Owning a pet, especially one that is allowed to breed and have babies means you need to put something away as far as funds in order to take care of disasters like this.

This kitten is sick. He needs medical attention, not milk replacer. At 5 weeks, this kitten should be eating solid food and drinking water on its own. Kittens mature much faster than puppies do.

There isn't anything anyone can tell you to do online. A vet needs to physically see the kitten to help it. Not taking this kitten and its sibling to the vet means death... and probably not a peaceful death. If he makes it, than its just pure luck.

Kitten is doing brilliant now... A lot better than he was. He was eating proper food then he stopped. I usually do have money for emergencies but unfortunately my partner had to give up work due to ill health and we had to use emergency money.

Hi Lucky, if I hadn't done exactly the same thing as OP in caring for the kitten, I wouldn't have had much to say, but I am glad I had the experience to pass on the knowledge at this time and it worked out well apparently.

Thanks for all the help! He is still tiny. And we haven't a name yet because until he was sick we where going to give to a friend. We have decided to keep our little fighter. I shall post a pic as soon as I can . X
