My toilet is making sporadic gushing noise approximately every 2-3 minutes with vibrating/banging sound in pipes. Started spprox. 3 weeks ago, and was less frequent.; but has gradually gotten consistently word.

First off you DON'T need a new to[let or your pipes replaced. Jameson was completely inaccurate in his solution/
A few questions and we'll start the repair. Please explain "gushing". Does water erupt out of the bowl? Do you live in a condo? How many floors? What floor are you on? Any other problems? Back to you, Tom

No water is "gushing" out of stool. That is the best way I can describe the sound. I live in a single family, 1 story home. No other problem (right now) with the commode; but unrelated, my shower head is spraying & squirting water willy-nilly over top of shower door out onto the floor. Can you help with this also?

Sounds like you need a new flapper valve. If the flapper is leaking, the tank will refill every so often. As for the banging pipes, you may need to repair or replace the fill valve, as it sounds like it is shutting off quickly (acting as a quick close valve) causing a bit of water hammer in your pipes.
As for the shower head, you can take it off and clean it up real good or simply install a new shower head and that should take care of that problem.
