OK... My boyfriend has been put on Wellbutrin XL and Trazodone HCL... He has been diagnosed as depressed and maybe Bipolar... Anyway a psychiatrist blames it partly on his work... crazy hours he is the head stocker at grocery store... Can work trigger this? He has always been moody even as a child and has anger problems... Problem is I seem to get the anger tossed my way... Hopefully medicine will keep him on a better even keel as this is my last hope of staying with him... I am always on edge when I'm with him... He's fine... then can be really mean to me... He's 20... Anyway just curious about anybody that has been on any of these meds... and if they worked for you...

I take XL... works well for me... work and life situations can cause "triggers" when one has a mental illness... but it does not cause it.
Only depressed persons usually are not angry at others, but anger is turned inward, which is depression. Seems he may be bi-polar... I am. I would recommend that he attend anger management classes. But let me tell you woman to woman... that if he is mean to you at 20, even with a mental illness and medication. He will be mean to you at 40... if he does not get it under control. If your always on the edge with him, that is no kind of life for you to live... don't be... I suggest you leave. It is hard I know... but coming from experiencs with abusive men that I have had in my life... do not waste your life with them!

My partner is bi polar, and he is on Trazadone (amongst others, he takes loads of different meds) he isn't mean or nasty to me, we have been together for just over 2 years and have never had a fight or an argument or anything like that, he just doesn't get angry. But he has been on the meds for years now so he is pretty stable on them. My partners bi polar was triggered by his work, so he is no longer allowed to work (for a minimum of five more years) but his actual mental health problems were caused by infant alcohol syndrome as his mother was an alcoholic.

I do wish you the best, stay with him if you can see yourself having a life with him, but its no life being on edge with someone who is supposed to be your lover.
