I am looking for the title of an old black and white movie where a well-to-do banker travels to New York to take a bank deposit and is somehow disgraced and is too embarrassed to return home. His son becomes a famous violin player and comes to New York to play in Carnegie hall and his father (the estranged banker) collects enough money to stand in the back of the hall to hear his son play. He ends up going back home and is looking in the window of his house at his family at Christmas and a police officer catches him. The mans wife comes outside and tells the officer to let him go, because it's christmas (seems like she recognizes him? ). The movie ends with the man walking down the street. I would LOVE to find the title of this movie-my grandparents have been searching for it for years!
