Where is the water on the floor coming from. Any chance your new shower head has a side shut off valve built in?

The same happens when you remove the shower head. I would say the water is coming from the back of the where you turn the on/off control knob .

Bad news, I am thinking you may have broken a connection inside the wall, probably where the horizontal shower pipe does a 90 degree with the vertical pipe in the wall. Shut off your main, remove the shower handle and bezel. Might need a flashligh to see clearly but look inside, top of valve, have a friend turn the main back on briefly. If the water comes out of the valve you might be able to reconnect it through the opening in the wall, it will be tight. If the water is coming from above the faucet hole you will need to open the wall. After testing my directions, if the water comes from above, wait a few hours for more plumbing guys to give additional opinions. This will not be afun job if you have to open the wall.

You broke the elbow at the top where the arm stubs out. Open it and repair. Do not cut tile. Open above tile or behind. Do not catch you home on fire.

The outlet plug had broken, any ideas what would have caused that to happen, seems strange.

Will I get one at the local plumbers merchant or should I order online?

Outlet plug is what? Is it the shower arm [chrome pipe sticking out of wall]?

Hi Doug,if you look at this link it's number 7,the one under the body(there's two number sevens).

Aquavalve 605 thermostatic and 405 manual mixer valve - Aqualisa (http://www.aqualisa.co.uk/parts-store/Controls/Aquavalve-605-thermostatic-and-405-manual-mixer-valve/)

How can that plug get broken by changing the shower head? It does not sound right. Have you checked to see if the water is trickling down and only dropping off the plug? If the plug really is broken then just change it out.

Doesn't make sense to me,it had totally broke off, water gushing out when the shower was turned on.

Is the shower clogged? It still should not have broken, but check the shower flow.
