My period was 4 days early last month when I started on Nov 6th. It was lighter than usuall but still pretty normal and it lasted 3 days. I am late this month by 16 days. I took a test when I was 2 days late, 5 days, one week, and today at 16 days late. All have come out negative. Also I had very very light bleeding when I was 2 days late. It got lighter as the day went on and the next day it was just a bit of spotting, only when I wiped. A few days later my hudsband and I had unprotected sex. It hurt a little and after we noticed I had bled a bit. It was mucous with red/pink tinge. The next two days when I wiped twice I noticed faint pink on the TP. Third day it was a pinkish brownish faint color. Could I be pregnant and maybe tested too early? I forgot, I have a 3 year old son still Breastfeeding, letting himself wean. My periods are for the most part regular ranging from 29-31 days. Thank you.

Pregnancy tests have a high failure rate. Most of the time a false negative can be attributed to human error, testing too soon, not at the right time, not following the directions exactly. Other times it's just too soon to test. There are women that don't get a reliable reading from a home pregnancy test until their second trimester, or even later.
When you tested did you use first morning urine?

Sometimes in the very early stages of pregnancy the hormone level is so low that the it is undectable on urine test. Levels of hCG differ in all women at all different times. All pregnancy tests vary in their sensitivity, your body may not be producing enough hCG for the test to even measure yet. Your body needs time for the hormone to rise to a high enough level to be detected in a test, and no one can predict how fast you are going to produce it. All pregnancy tests will tell you they are 97% or more accurate, but that is just simply not the case when you are dealing with ALL woman kind. I would recommend that you get a blood test.

Well, I was thinking of waiting on my next scheduled period which will be in two weeks. I will test again and if not I'll go get a blood test. Or take a test next week. Not knowing and waiting is so hard!
