If someone is ranting and raving about how they got married to an illegal for money, what could be the reprocusions of that? How is he/she getting away with this?

If it were to be reported, where would this concern be taken, who can it be reported to? This person is in California and Married to an illegal and the illegal lives in Nevada.

You would take it directly to Immigration:

Gather the full name of the person who is committing the immigration fraud. Call the Immigration Enforcement line at 1 (866) 347-2423.

Thank you so much :). Now I'm not sure how long this marriage has been in effect but I know for a fact that it does exist, would it matter after if it has been a few years? Is there a certain amount of time that before it "expires" and they wouldn't get into trouble?

You either do it or you don't. I don't think there is any statute of limitations for immigration fraud.

Why are you concerned, are you connected?

The thing is I have the first and last name of the American (don't have the middle name), I have no name of the illegal. I have the DOB of the american but like I said, nothing on the illegal, I just need to get all the information I need before I make the call.

First the person is still an illegal, and just getting married, does not make them a citizen.
They are not living together, so they are not meeting the requirements of being married, for them to even attempt to get citizenship.

Next do you even know it is true, since them living apart and just getting married makes no immigration sense,

There will have to be proof, other than the person saying this, evidence of the money exchanging hands, proof of the marriage and proof the marriage was for the money, not just a debt that was owed.
If there is no evidence to prove this, nothing will be done.

Also immigration is over worked, and if they wanted to catch illegal people, they could go to Home Depo any morning and get a van full of them.

So what do you have against this person to make you want to do this to them ?

But if it is proved, they would get a fine to pay.
