If the law has not changed since to 70's and you where arrested and convicted, mandatory sentence is 0ne year.

You probably need to give a little more detail. You say gun charge but you don't say how. You were caught concealing? You own an illegal gun? You threatened someone with it? It's a handgun? A rifle?
Some offenses will break Federal law and that becomes a whole different situation.
We need details to give you a better answer.

Odiin7 is right. I assumed it was possession of an unlicensed hand gun.

I agree, there are dozens of "gun charges".
And there does not have to be a warrant if you were just caught with the gun and the officer arrested you then.

Felonies, especially violent ones can make a plea deal hardier.
