Hi , I'm currently in a position where I don't know if I'm pregnant . I was recent on the depo shot but only received 1 shot/dose . Which was around September 10th & I never went to get another shot when it was due . Not because I was trying to conceive but because I missed the appointment & I didn't like the side affects it gave me . My period went back to its normal cycle after being off depo for a month. So just recently I had unprotected sex & of course he ejaculated inside me . This all happened December 2nd but really late at night so I guess December 3rd & about 3-4 days later I started to bleed . But not a lot like my regular period . More like spots on my panty liner & when I wipe . I Ovulated December 1st & my period isn't due until the 15th... Oh & I'm currently still spotting today (December 9th) Please help I need to know if I should see a doctor right away.. if you or anyone could email me back that would be very helpful . My email :<removed for privacy>

Thank You .

Your question is quite confusing. If you got your Depo on or around September 10, then you aren't/weren't due for another Depo until on or around December 10. So you aren't really late for another injection until about now.

You wouldn't be considered to be off Depo for a month until around January.

Considering you aren't really that late for the Depo shot, how do you know that you were ovulating on December 1? In order to know your ovulation dates you have to track your period for a minimum of 6 months using the basal body temperature (not a phone app), without being on any form of contraception whatsoever.

Since you are just about now due for another Depo shot, and you haven't had one, most likely you are experiencing break through bleeding and your body is starting to adjust to your natural hormones rather than relying on the hormones given to you artificially by the injection.

What concerns me the most is that you don't know exactly how Depo affects your body and that you don't know how to track ovulation.

If you are not wanting to get pregnant you need to refrain from sex altogether as there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective aside from abstinence or a total hysterectomy.

Okay first of all I've been on depo since I was 15 & stopped for about 6 years . So I know that side affects it gave me . It made me feel sick , run fevers , gain weight... The usual .& I recently got back on because I didn't want any kids yet & I do know how to track when ovulating . Its not that hard , I know my body really well . & secondly I didn't mean to say September I meant to say August & I've had 3 months worth of regular periods since the depo & since I haven't received any more shots since the first one . Which is why I'm confused as well , should I go see a doctor?

& I've already gone through the break through bleeding in November . I bled for like 2 weeks .

Well... this post is dramatically different than the first. To get proper advice you need to post all info and be accurate. We aren't mind readers. Paragraphs would also help us understand you better.

Rather than making me read both posts and piecing all of the info together, please start from the beginning using proper punctuation, spelling, and paragraphs do that I am properly informed prior to giving advice.
