I have a Moen posi-temp shower-tub faucet in a guest bathroom. We discovered the tub faucet dripping and replaced the cartridge with a new Moen cartridge. The dripping continues; when I turn water supply to home off, there seems to be a small supply to the water line feeding the faucet? What can I do next to stop dripping problem?

Pull the cartridge again but this time when the cartridge is out, go turn the main water on for about five seconds then back off. Do this "flushing" action a few times. Reinstall cartridge and see if things don't improve.

In addition to Lees advice when you have the cartridge out check the stem to be sure it's seating properly in the cartridge. Good luck, Tom

Followed recommendations above, new cartridge from Moen, flushed lines, initially no dripping, then after 1 hour dripping started again?? Do not know what to do next...

Did you grease the cartridge before you installed it? If so did you use plumbers grease or what? How to Lubricate Single Handle Moen Faucets | eHow.com (http://www.ehow.com/how_5782850_lubricate-single-handle-moen-faucets.html)

Moen provided lubricant to apply to cartridge... applied to both pads as instructed.

It could be some scratching or debris in the valve body. Moen does warranty this valve for life so replacement won't be very expensive if you can do it yourself. Also, try clicking the Google links above my answer, very helpful.

When you shut off your main there is still water and pressure in your pipes so the drip will continue for a few minutes. Open another faucet and you'll see the drip stop for now.

Understood, I turn off water to house, open both tub faucet and sink faucets to drain lines... after several minutes there is still dripping from bath tub faucet... dripping will stop if I raise the shower lever... of course... however once released, dripping resumes... spoke with Moen rep and told to take cartridge out again, flush line, lubricate cartridge only with Moen lubrication, plumbers grease will destroy rubber tabs on cartridge, insert cartridge... dripping starts after a few minutes..?
