Hello, I noticed my heater did not come on a few days ago so I went in my attic today and my furnace cover was off, I put it back on and my heater worked, can this cover come off by itself?or did someone go in my attic and remove cover,

Normally the cover will not come off by itself as long as it was installed properly to start with. The cover when properly installed activates a door safety switch which pervents the furnace from operating with the blower access door off.

I doubt if someone would break into your home to remove the cover unless it was a furnace repair person looking for work and then they would violate the law by breaking in and that could send them to jail.

When last worked on installed door, clips in no screws, maybe was not pushed in all the way.
