Yep, there'll come a day when every person will have to meet his Maker.
For those nearing their shelf-life, the question is always present, although in the back-burner of their minds.
There will come a day when we will become so old and decrepit that we will be lose our mobility and become unable to take care of ourselves.
And have to depend on others to help us in EVERYTHING.
Help nowadays are rarely available, given willingly or of any quality.
Even for the very rich.
But for the poor, it is non-existent!
This dependency may last for a short while or may go on for years, depending on the incumbent's health.
A few countries in the world allow euthanasia.
But for those who don't there are organisations that will help life to come to a conclusion in the best possible way.
Perhaps this is far more preferable to living a life of dependency on others.
So, what are your views?

I lost both my parents to cancer 6 1/2 months apart. My father went very quickly after he was diagnosed, less than 2 weeks. My mother survived with this horrible disease for 10 months, and in that 10 months she went from a healthy vibrant woman, to a shell. If I showed you pictures of the day she was diagnosed, and the day she died, you'd think 40 years had passed between.

When we found out she was terminal she signed a DNR. She was in constant pain from the chemo and radiation, couldn't breath without help, had to go to the cancer clinic 5 times a week, couldn't walk on her own without a lot of stress and pain.

At one point, shortly before she passed, when they recommended another set of radiation, she looked at me and said "I wish I were a dog. If I were a dog you could take me to the vet and end my misery. But as a human I have to suffer until the very end, even though everyone knows there's no hope. I'm simply waiting to die, because that's what happens next".

In other words, I do believe that we should offer the option of euthanasia to terminally ill patients. I don't agree with euthanasia if it's simply someone that has no one to care for them. I wouldn't do that to my dogs, and I definitely won't do it to a human being. There has to be a better option than killing someone that's perfectly healthy, that just needs some help.
