Probably not unless he can get the criminal record expunged. Should he have the child? Would he be a good and responsible and appropriate father? Does he drink or do drugs? How stable is your household?
Sounds like this child has been through enough so if he's not rock-solid and stable, he should let the child be adopted into a secure and stable family.

I would say yes he may. Since his sex crime was that of teen underage dating, his attorney should be able to prove to the court that he is no threat to his own child.
He will need an attorney, and file for at least temp custody, or guardianship from the state, they will most likely want to review his record, may require counseling and very intense supervision

My home is very stable we the two children together 1and 2 year ols girls and he's never showed me nothing but greatness when it comes to them the child that he is trying to get custody of is 4 so basically I should get him a really good attorney because they are trying to make him sign his right off because they think that he is a danger to the.
