I get really bad rips and hate how long they take too heal! I have tried putting vitamin E on them but found it didn't work for me. My teammate also tried putting a black tea bag on her rips and it also didn't help. I have a meet in 6 days and need to heal my rip before it. I know 6 days gives it a lot of time to heal but I keep ripping it back open at practice.

Any suggestions?

What do you mean with "bad ribs"? Do you have a rib strain?
You need to let it heal completely. If you don't let it heal, healing times get longer each time and you risk permanent damage.
Did you talk to your doctor about this?

No I'm talking about gymnastics riPs that you get from the bars.

But if I did have bad ribs that would have been a good answer :)
Thanks!

Would you mind describing the "rip" please?

Thanks a lot!
Although a lot of those things I already knew, there were some that I did not.
But over all very helpful!
Thank you for taking the time to help me out!

A rip/tear on the hand is when gymnasts rip a callus from being on the bars too much. It also happens with weight lifters, or any other sport that involves a lot of hand use and friction and rubbing of the hand.

I use the services of a sports therapist for sports related soft tissue damage. That's what I use for any cycling and hockey injuries.
