Want to separate a switch that turns on lights at two different locations into a switch that turns on one of the lights and add a new switch that turns on the other light. Just need to understand the wiring as I know how to knock a hole in the wall to add the new switch box below the existing switch. Thanks

Well, it all depends on how it was wired in the first place. There is no way for us to tell from here how it was wired. You'd have to open up both switches and both lights to tell.
