My husband died (June 2011) with his name only on our house deed. I am his wife of 35 years and have to go through informal probate to resolve the deed, changing it to my name. I have probate powers in effect and am executor. His will does state I am beneficiary of all of his estate but we also live in Wisconsin which has marital property laws. Do I use a county transfer form only to change the title and what do I put in the legal title? Second question, is the transfer exempt from fees because of any reason? It is my primary residence and will continue to live here.
