I'm replacing my old baseboard heater with a new fanrenheat baseboard heater model f25426nwc, 240/208v, 500 watts, 2.1 amps. I'm using a honeywell thermostat model ct410b, it has 4 wires, 2 red and 2 blk. I did not touch my wiring since there was no need for it. The problem that I'm having is that the heater is not putting any real heat, even at the thermstats highest setting. I have several working baseboard heaters in my house so I disconnected one and hooked up the new heater in that circuit to verify that its working properly. After five minutes it was putting out more heat than before, so I know that the heater is working. I have researched this issue over and over and cannot find a solution to why its not heating up properly? Any input that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

500 watts isn't a lot of output. Your hair dryer is 2-3 times that. Not sure how hot it should get but if you are trying to heat a room of any size, particularly if it is very cold, you won't do it with 500 watts.
