Hi guys! I have been using a LAN connection to use the internet since the past 3 months.. During the past 3 months my wifi and my cable network was working perfectly. Suddenly, a problem occurred and my wifi doesn't work at all. At the beginning, I thought that it was from the modem itself but no!. After several verification of the modem by the service provider, they conclude that everything was perfectly working on the modem and that the problem was on my laptop itself but I tried to connect my laptop to other wifi network (which is not mine) and it works. The WLAN light is also switched on on the modem box and my laptop detects the network but after entering the passphrase and clicking on "connect" , It connects to the network showing "aquiring network adress" and then ask me to re connect again. And it kepps on doing so again and again, Finally showing "unable to connect...". What is the problem?. please help!. I use Windows XP...

Maybe you have the incorrect wireless password.

1 - Log into the modem with it's IP address.
Open command prompt and type: Ipconfig /all
The default gateway is the modem's address. Ex. 192.168.0.1
Type that address in you internet browser.
The modem might request a username and password.
Try admin / admin or admin / password
2 - Find the wireless section and look for the security key.

If the key is the same as you have you must reset your modem with the reset button at it's back. Do not do this is you are not familiar with setting up the modem from scratch.

If that still does not work then return your modem to your isp for an exchange.
