I may need to replace my central ac and I need some information. I am clueless.

Get 3 bids from local competitors and post back with the costs, brands and sizes of units. Then we will go from there.

Most any new a/c system is going to be fine. Install and installing company reputation, reliability, and of course cost are the main factors. Get them bids and let us know what you find.

Given the "cheapest" equipment, installed by the best installer & the "best" equipment, installed poorly, the "cheap" equipment will be less troublesome & more efficient. Equipment = <5%; Installation = >95%.

Choose the installer first & let him pick the equipment.
