IRS says I did not file 2008. I cannot find my w23's how do I do this.

Don't you keep copies of your Tax returns? You should for at least 10 years for this reason. You would have a copy in those if you did along with everything else... Saved me twice when they did this over the last 32 years and I could simply provide proof they were filed and everything else.. making a copy of those copies.

The W-2 doesn't prove you actually filed anything in 2008 or any other year...

You can get the W-2s from the employer, who must maintain file copies for ten years.

If not, both the state and the URS can provide you a tax transcript fron which any competent tax professional can prepare the rwturn for you.
