So this is a problem that is very important to me. I'm not asking for myself, this is for my girlfriend. So, I'll start at the beginning:
So, one evening, from what she has told me, she and her mother were sitting in their living room watching TV, when the side of her face, the left side I believe, went numb and began to twitch and be plagued with severe pain. This pain then gradually moved down to her left arm and caused horrible pain there. She was in so much pain she couldn't stand because her legs were shaking and felt like they were going to give out. This lasted for about a half an hour or so. Then later that week, at work, the same thing happened to her, only slightly less severe. She went to the doctor several times, but they were detached and wanted nothing to do with her since she doesn't have insurance and it was just stat care. The pain in her arm has been persisted for over a month now and she has a reoccurring twitch in her arm, wrist area/forearm I believe. It seemed to be getting better, but it seemed to be bothering her an awful lot today. She was given an option for some expensive tests, but doesn't have several thousand dollars for them. I told her she should apply for a med card, but she was unable to, and I am REALLY worried. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. If there is anymore information you need, I will be more than happy to supply it.

She should be able to go to an ER and be treated there without insurance.

All right I'll let her know :) thank you for your swift response I really appreciate it. She has gone to the local stat care before but they brushed it off like it was nothing.

What are a "local stat care" and a "med card"?

What I mean by local stat care is like mercy medical, its also refereed to as immediate care. And by med card I mean medicaid. She comes from a lower end family, and based on what I just read I don't know if she'll be able to afford an emergency room visit...

If she has no medical insurance, Medicaid should kick in, unless she has tons of money.

Well, she was going to apply, but the agency needs her mothers pay stubs, which her mom apparently can't get. She's 19 by the way.

Why no pay stubs? Does your girl live at home? She's an adult.
