Hi, I am a 22 year old and I have been taking the birth control pill Portia for a little over a year. I got my period November 5-8th, and since have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. On November 20th, I was at my job which requires standing for 5 hours, which usually isn't a problem for me. But on this day, my back lower back started feeling really achy and a wave of unexpected nausea hit me. I felt like I was going to puke so I went into the bathroom just in case which resulted in dry heaves and more nausea, but no vomitting. I have been nauseous off and on ever since and I thought I might have the flu, but no diarrhea, fever or cold symptoms. I have been feeling very sore and tired and fatigued. My breasts also are sore to the touch. I am wondering could I be pregnant? Or are these just symptoms that my period is coming? I am expecting it in about 9 days, December 3.

Yes, you could be pregnant. No form of birth control is 100%.

As for your symptoms, there's no way to determine pregnancy by symptoms. Pregnancy symptoms are the same as many other things, including PMS, the flu, etc. etc.

Wait until your period is due. If you miss it, wait a week or two and take a pregnancy test using first morning urine.

I uasually don't get these symptoms before my period, that's why I'm curious. Also, I've been experiencing some constipation and trouble sleeping, which isn't normal for me
