My Fiancée says she was told a new law was passedin2012 which enacted a Declaration fee Note for exiting Ghana travellers to other countries like the United States in my case. The letter of declaration given her by an person posing as an immigration officer says $1500 to $10,000. Is this true? Or is the continuing scam from 2011 warning letter from May 21,20122 from Ghana Immigration Service? I am not buying it . Please help. Christopher Wong Las Vegas, Nevada USA

The best thing to do is to go to her country and meet her and her family. I'm betting she doesn't exist.

Thank you very much for helping me not to make a big mistake. thank you from the bottom of my heart. The key was when she didn't want me to come & visit her in Ghana. I told her it was essential that I meet her at least once inorder to qualify for a fiancée Visa K- 1 to the United States. Thank you again for saving me time, money, and heartache.

Do I get a prize? Ha ha

This scam has been warned about often here and on the embassy's web site. Buy your loved ones some nice Christmas gifts with the money you saved.
