Have a 1990 Honda Civic LX with rough idle just went and spent a lot of money at junk yards trying to fix the problem and went and bought a new icm and it's still doing the same thing if some one knows what the problem is please tell me before I burn the damn car to the ground

Did you check the plugs and wires? Check for vac leaks?

It's a standard, first Honda I've owned and jumps between 900 and 1700 rpms so feel free to talk to me like a lameman

Looked at all the hoses seem like they are in fair condition no cracks. How else would I look for vac leaks

I'm telling you to check for vacuum leaks on the engine. All hoses, intake, base of carb/throttle body unit. A vacuum leak is one cause of what you describe.

How do I check for a vacuum leak? Visually? Or is there a better way?

. Water spray bottle for intake manifold leaks. Engine must be running.

. Propane gas with hose for leaks around the plenum. Many people use brake cleaner, but it's more dangerous. Check with engine running--listen for changes in how the engine sounds.
