I would like to separately control 2 lights wired in series that are currently on one switch. So 2 lights - 2 switches wired in series on one wire. Is this doable?

What do you mean by in series and one wire?

Do you want both switches controlling both lights?
So you just want to make the single switch into two 3-way switches?

There is a wire going from one light to the other.

If the wiring goes from power, to the switch, then up to one light, and over to the other light, the wire between the lights is no help at all. You need to abandon that and treat the second light as a brand new one.

You need to find a feed, bring it to a new switch, then up to the existing light you want to separate.

Please re-post and ask your question in a more general way. Some how I get the impression you have a room with a ceiling light on a wall switch and want to add a second fixture but want to turn it on and off with a second switch.

Exactly how you would do something like that will depend on where the power is and how the wiring can be installed with the least destruction to wall surfaces.
