Have a john deere 10/ 32 tecumseh snowblower engine hm100 1599038h 3131d was running last year but now has no spark. What should I check first and so on.

Spark seldom leaves from sitting. Suggest you start looking for a shorting ignition ground wire. Especially if it was stored where there might be mice.
