Hello,
I am on my OPT STEM and my OPT expires at the end of May 2013. My company plans to file for my H1B and Green card, I have two questions.
- I work for a for-profit school which is accredited and stuff and they are planning for my H1B application. I wanted to know what are the regulations for applying for H1B when you are working for a education group. I have read if your employer is an educational group you don't have to go through the quota system. However the lawyer says this is not exactly true for 'for-profit' schools. Can someone shed light on this.
- In case I have to wait for quota, can I file for green card through my company and apply for H1B when the quota opens? Is it possible and if yes is it even a good idea or its just complicating things?
