I watched this sci-fi film as a kid in the 80s, so must have been made then or in the 70s. It featured an actor with a distinctive mole on his cheek (I think I remember that correctly) and he's on a quest to find someone (either a girlfriend or sister).

He has a spaceship and along the way makes friends with various people that help him in his quest, including some aliens.

That's as much as I can remember, having watched it when I was about 8 (mid 30s now and a lot's happened since then :-) ).
