No one wants to adopt American teens, so it's very unlikely anyone would be interested in adopting one from another country. Why can't you make a good life and career in your own country?

Where are you from? Are there no opportunities there?

As an American (who has an adopted child) I can share some information with you.

First, most Americans who wish to adopt children typically want to adopt infants. It's a problem in our country that many American teenagers do not get adopted. There are many such teens in foster homes (temporary homes) because there are not enough people willing to adopt them.

Second, most people who adopt are not rich people. Some rich people adopt, but often if they have problems having children on their own, they are more likely to be able to afford advanced medical procedures to overcome their fertility issues.

I don't think adoption is going to be the right path for you to come to America. That's not to say there's no way you can come though - I have a better idea.

Many American universities welcome foreign students. You would have to do very well in school in your home country, and finish whatever your country's equivalent is to high school. Here students attend school for 14 or 15 years depending on whether they start at 4 years of age or 5. If you are a strong candidate to enter university, you can apply to American universities and can also apply for scholarships. There are international organizations such as Rotary International for one example, which are interested in helping students to get an education and offer scholarships. I would suggest you do some research online and talk to teachers in your school about aspirations to attend university in the United States.

You will find that no matter where you are in the world, education is the best path for young people to improve their circumstances.

Perhaps you could be adopted as well, and you certainly could contact an adoption resource in your home country and see if they might be able to help you. Or even look up American adoption agencies on the computer and write to them to tell them your circumstances and that you wish to be adopted. If they know of a family who wants to adopt a teenager from your country, perhaps they can help you get it done.

However, I think getting a good education then researching and working to come here for University is your best option. There are many, many universities in America so if one is not a good fit there are hundreds and hundreds more worth considering.

I would also recommend you reach out to a church organization with American ties. Are there, for example, any mission groups in your area from the US who are Catholic or Lutheran? They might be interested in your situation and try to hep you. Even if you are are not Catholic, for example, you could write to your local Catholic bishop and ask for help and guidance. Tell them a Catholic lady from America recommended that you do so and said that the Catholics like to help people in need of assistance.

Best wishes to you!
