I have been having major issues with a new boss. Today at work someone mopped out a freezer unknown to me and the floor was a sheet of ice and islipped and my back is in severe pain. While I was filling out my first report of injury my boss came in and fired me for a non related issue can I still file for workmans comp or just unemployment I live in ill.

You can file for workers comp to pay for any doctors bills or treatment .
Also why did they fire you, was there grounds for the "other reason" or was the real reason getting hurt ?

No my firing was justified I can get no benefits except for medical? Thank you so much

Actually you may be able to collect your wages from workers comp, since you are not able to find work. ( I may be wrong but I would try)
