I am having this problem for quite some time. My shift keys are messed up! When I press shift+2, I get double quotes, and when I press shift+' I get @. # has gone to backslash key, and backslash has completely disappeared form my keyboard. Please help.

Check on the bottom right of your Taskbar (near where the time is), see if you see a keyboard icon. Click on it and see if it shows the correct keyboard for your language.
