My 2003 ford taurus gose into gears except park. Had to put in neutral and put e brake on.. What's wrong?

Could be linkage adjustment, shifter cable or a damaged parking pawl.

The Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) is either bad or out of adjustment (requires special tool). My advice is to take it to Ford--it shouldn't cost too much.
