Woke up this morning and we had no water at all. I checked the gage and it reads zero. I know you are supposed to hold the reset switch but I can not find one. Can someone give me a different idea to try? Please? I really need help. I don't want to call someone.
Thank you

Start at the breaker box, Is the breaker open? If the breaker's OK open up the control box and tell me if the points are open or closed, Back to you, Tom

Did you check the control, box points? What type of pump do you have? Let me know, Tom

SB is giving good advice. Check those points.
The reset switch you referred to would be a lever on the side of the switch. Pull it, if you have one. But that is probably not your problem.

I don't know what control, box points are. And I am not sure what type of pump it is. Sorry wish I could tell you more. But thank you very much for the help. I have a feeling the pump is shot.

I think you are right that it isn't the reset lever (especially because I don't have one) but I do believe the pump is shot.

You will have a little grey box with electrical wires coming in/out. With the breaker off, remove the cover. There are two pairs of contacts inside the switch. See if they are closed (touching). If they are, then the switch is doing its job and electricity should be going to the pump.
Your pump will either be above ground or in the well.

Also check your wiring at the pump, we've had the underground wiring suddenly go bad, that could be the problem too.

Here's what a control box looks like, (see image). Remove the cover and tell me if the points are open or closed. Also, is your pump on the surface or in the well? Back to you, Tom

Thank you so much for all your advice. I did try everything you mentioned but I still couldn't figure it out so we did have to call someone to come look at it. And he told us that there is no way we could have fixed it by ourselves. I can't remember what it was that he replaced but it was something that made it work. But thank you again so much!
