I just received, as a gift, an older model White Sewing machine. It is electric, in a wood sewing cabinet and it looks like the serial number is FR 3000320. Can you tell me what year it was made and approximate value for insurance purposes.

Most older sewing machines really aren't worth much.

White Rotary sewing machines were second most common in that era, next to singer, and are relatively common. Perfect decals might make it more desirable to a collector; use usually wears them down. A perfect cabinet might be desirable to a collector. Value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it, which wouldn't be all that much unless the condition is perfect and it has all the bells and whistles in similar condition (manual, accessory tin, etc.). If it's perfect and you know its provenance from the date of original sale AND have documentation to prove it, that might make it worth a little more.

But the answer to your question -- its value is not much.
