Hey! So I've been dating my girlfriend now for 2 months. As a recap we had fooled around once like a year ago but when I wanted to be serious and like go on a date I it the hard no. 2 months before we started dating I was fooling around with her because I didn't expect anything from then relationship. However she asked me out and I said yes.

Now the issue. My girlfriend was fooling around with a guy this summer and he just basically had sex and she was the one always trying to text him and initiate the "hang outs". Anyway he paid her no mind and would just hook up anytime she texted. After a while she felt he was just fooling around and stopped contact. Anyway after that he moved back to my hometown and we met hooked up a few times and started dating (not as romantic but I like her). Now in the beginning she would talk of him and told me what had occurred this summer and that he basically just used her here and there; however she would being him up and I said that she couldn't wait for me to go back to the city in order to show me off. One day I got pissed and to.d her to drop it and she reassured me that she didn't care. She said it was really that he was the cute and it was more of the thought of dating him but it would not end well for her. And she said she didn't like talking to him because he was one minded and not really school oriented and she was looking for a guy she could discuss things with. Btw the guy she hooked up with before and her new frd have something going on and my girlfriend is cool with it and even tells me and tells me she tries to get it out of him if he likes her so he won't do to her frd what he did to my girlfriend.

Is my girlfriend into this dude because I do not want to be he rebound guy or back up plan. Because I know some girls can date a guy but be emotionally connected to another.

P.S: she also brings up her past bf's not just the fling guy and is very open with e when it comes to her past
