Has anyone used the "archive" utility?

As we have sold one of the companies that I worked for, what I want to do is...

1. Backup/archive my inbox to a cd.
2. Remove all inbox folders from the server. (running out of room)

How do you restore your achieved items?
Will a restored .pst file overwrite any new files?

In all the corporate environments I have been in they have disabled the archive feature. Offline .pst seems to be the way they are going.

You mention a server. Are you referring to Exchange or your personal mailboxes?

All the mailboxes are kept on the exchange server and accessed from desktop/remote machines.
