I'm adding a new toilet in an existing bath which has only a shower stall and a vanity sink. My house has a crowling space where the drains and sewer pipes from other bathrooms are located.
There is an existing 2" vent thru the roof about 5 feet away from the new toilet I'm adding. I don't have much room in the bath to install a dedicated pipe stack on the wall behind the toilet.
Can I vent the toilet about 2 feet from the closet bend and on top of the horizontal(1/2" per foot) soil pipe going to the sewer pipe and connect this vent to the existing 2" vent?
I will appreciate your help. Than you.

You might not have to install a dedicated vent if wet vents are allowed in your area,(see image) Call your local Building Department and check, Good luck, bTom
