Today I went in my car and the ignition was stuck not turning.. I fiddled with the steering wheel a bit and than I was able to start the car. Everything was fine till I shut the car off and got to work. Now after I removed the key and opened the door the chime started going off that usually goes off when something is left on or key is left in ignition, did a check everything was in right order but still the chime was going off. I tried to lock the doors with the power lock on the door and long and behold the doors would not lock due to the chime.. I think the car thinks the key is still in the ignition when its really not, I am leaning towards the reason for this maybe because of the issue that I couldn't turn the ignition and I may have pushed and turned key too hard and something went wrong in the key cylinder but I'm not sure. Right now the only was I can lock the car doors is manually with the key from outside which is really annoying.. Any suggestions or quick fixes that I can do in order to fix this problem. If it indeed is the cylinder I want to avoid changing it at all costs due to than I have to carry 2 sets of keys one for doors and one for car.. Please let me know what ideas or suggestions you may have... PS- I tried the old put tape on the button on the door in order to shut the chime and fix it but I am not satisfied with that Solution...

Somewhere in your fuse box will be a fuse that controls the chime. Unfortunately, it probably controls other functions too. You could look for the chime, usually under the dash near the steering column and disconnect it.
