My daughter, Jennifer, lives in Idaho. Her landloard tells her she owes $1500.00 in rent. Her rent is $600.00 month. She just paid rent for this month and then she receives a letter that states, if she does not pay $1500.00 she will be evicted. She has her money order receipts. What is the law about eviction with children in the state of Idaho and can he do this if she is paying her rent?

She also has done thousands of dollars in repairs, and fixing things to be up to date. He has given her no credit for any of that.

Jennifer works for the state of Idaho and has a good job, I feel that this landlord is trying to put her in harm as far as her boys and lying about Jennifer's obligation.

Respectfully,
Glenda

First, if she voluntarily paid for repairs, then the landlord is under no obligation to reimburse.

The law doesn't address renters with children. The question is whether she really is behind in the rent or not. If she isn't let him try to evict. She will have a hearing and she can prove to the judge that she is up to date in her rent and the eviction will be denied.

P.S. it is not a good idea to post personal info online. We have edited your post to make it less identifiable.
