I currently work from my residential office and run a wireless network. I have two iMacs and a wireless printer connected to the network and they connect perfectly with no problems.
But alas, my PC laptop does not even discover the network. Not even the network from the next property, which I can always see. Please help any settings that could be causing this.
Thanks Herc

Make sure your wireless card is enabled as it could be turned off.

Thanks for the response. We mainly work on Macs and needed the PC for accounting. So it's a cheap one. It's a Compaq Presario CQ57. I have checked for any switches on the machine and there are none, unless its inside the unit. I do have a wireless symbol on my F12 button, which currently has a steady orange light. If I push the F12 button or 'fn" and F12, nothing changes and no pop-up messages appear. Im thinking the orange light will change to green if active.
So frustrating?

What OS is it running as it may well be disable further in.
Have you tried a simple reboot ?

Well the laptop is a PC and runs Windows 7. When you say 'reboot', do you mean a simple restart or a system reboot? Cause we have had this problem since we bought the machine, it has never picked up one single wireless connection.
Thanks for your assistance.

Sounds like an issue with the wireless card.
Check in Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections to see if it's installed and enabled.
And yes, reboot is the same as restart, the act of turning it off and on again..
