Your post is very difficult to understand.
A fellow employee reported your boss to head office, accusing him of fixing time cards?
Your boss than told the employee that reported him that he knew you were the one that told that employee who to contact with a complaint, but you didn't?
If that's what's going on, I don't see the problem. The number for head office, and who to call with complaints, should be readily available to all employees. Even if you did give the employee the number for head office, or told him/her who to call to complain, so what?
If your boss is doing what he's accused of doing, than what's the issue? Why are you even worried if all you did was potentially give someone the number to head office?
Last but not least, how is this defamation of character? Your boss simply said he knows who gave the employee the head office info. That's not defamation, that's gossip. Look up defamation and what's involved. It's not as simple as someone gossiping about you. If it were we'd all be in court at least once a day.

The thing is my boss is telling everybody that I am at fault for reporting him , which it wasn't me . I don't think that is gossip . I am the supervisor and an employee reported him to main office . If it is not defamation of the character or is it slander .

So you want to sue for defamation of character? What are your monetary damages? In other words, what money are you out because of what he said?

So I guess I just have to suck it up. What if they don't renew my contract
When it's time for me to sign again ?

If they don't renew your contract and it's because of the lies your boss is telling, then you have a case for defamation.
To win in court you have to prove that the lie someone told affected your business, or your ability to make money. If you boss lied and you were fired as a result, then you have a case. But right now he's lying and your feelings are hurt. You're not out any money, or a job.
Bottom line, you can sue if you want. Anyone can sue if they want to sue. But right now you don't have a case that you would win.

If your boss thinks you ratted him out he will likely no renew your contract. Have you spoken to him aout this issue? What would cause him to think you reported him?
