I live in a low income apartment in the state of Oregon that as far as I am concerned is ripping off the state. The manager showed up one day and had me initial my lease saying my apartment has three bedrooms rather than two. They are calling the living room a bedroom but it has no privacy door or closet. From the front door you can see all the way into the living room.

Doesn't a bedroom legally have to have the ability to be shut off from he rest of the house?

It's only me living there so how can the apartments get away with calling my apartment a three bedroom just to get more money from the state each month?

For real estate selling, a bedroom has to have a closet and a door and a window. I don't know what the law is in Oregon for low income housing, or even if there is a definition. I'm curious how you manage to qualify for even a 2 bedroom low income apartment, never mind a 3 bedroom? I'd be worried about losing the right to the place as much as the rip-off.
I have a feeling I could be here all night trying to find answers online, so you might want to start with the agency that you applied to for the apartment. There's no reason why the owner has to know that you are reporting him.
