You write songs?

How many have you sold so far?

Andre Ross

I am just starting to sell but I have a lot of songs to sell. Also I know they are good so I am letting them go for a cool price like 50 bucks maybe a peace and if someone uses them and they get famous for the song next songs they buy off me the price will go up; but if nothing happens with it I am still going to let them go for the same price. Also if the price is too high for some people I'll lower the price for the first song maybe 10, 15 bucks . So where I would be getting 40 or 35 bucks a song and if you buy four songs its 100 bucks. Because I just want to get known and put my foot in the door before I try get famous and even when it happens I am going to do the same thing so if you know anyone who want song they can hit me up and I'll give it to them and they can tell me what kind of song they want and I'll write one real quick.

Start a blog or even a web site to get yourself out there. Also, sign on to FB and to LinkedIn and make connections with other musicians/composers and bands.

Can you perform some of your songs to let people hear what you have created and then create a need?

Have you ever watched the movie "Coyote Ugly"? You should.

The girl in the movie is a lot like you, she wants to write the songs that other people sing. She learns early on that the only way to do that is to have people hear her songs, which means singing them herself, or paying someone to sing them for her.

Youtube is a great way to get your songs out there. So put your songs to music, sing them yourself, or find someone that can sing to sing them for you (which may cost money) and see what happens.

There are literally millions of people just like you out there, so don't expect this to be easy. Also don't expect anyone to pay you money for what you write just because you think it's good. You have to prove it to people before they'll put up the cash.

Good luck.

No one is going to buy something just because you say it's good. You have to show them it's good. The stars that already have contracts, that sing for a living, have writers, and don't buy from people that haven't shown that they're good.

Advertising on this site (I reported all the ad posts you started) isn't going to do it, nor is it allowed on this site.

You could post ads all over the internet, but you won't make any money doing it.

You have to put in the work, put in the effort. If this is something you're serious about than it's going to be a lot of hard work, 24/7, and instead of making money, you'll have to spend it. You have to eat, breath and live it, and even then you may not succeed. This isn't going to be as easy as posting an ad on a Q & A site, especially since your ads are going to continue being deleted.

We've given you advice on how to get your songs noticed. That's how you'll get people to pay for your songs. Anything else is a waste of your time.

Also I got I song that I maded that a lot of people have heard and they say they like it so I know that I can get famous but I don't know how to premaot myself. So I am just going to give some of the songs away because I can always write more but I want someone to makes some beats and that has a mic so I can get down and make some songs come to life and make a cd but since I don't know anyone close by. So I am just going to sell some of my songs and make some money so I can buy a beat when I want to creat a new song and when my cd get maded I won't go broke because I know people that told me if I had a cd they would buy it so it cool.

How old are you?

You can't sell a song that no one has heard. Do you know anyone who plays an instrument and who might put some of your words to music? Or do you have words and music already?

How can I hear your songs if you're not singing them and promoting them? That's the whole point. You keep saying your songs are amazing, you posted here advertising your songs (all those threads were deleted) and you think people are going to buy them because you think they're good? Well, I have a really nice bridge, it's pink, it's in London. Would you like to buy it? I'll sell it to you cheap? No? Why not?

Do you see where I'm going?

I only hope that when you write your songs you actually spell things correctly. Maded is not a word. Just fyi.

I am 24 I could let you hear one of the songs that I created and you could tell me then what do you think but I need some money to buy beats so that's why I am selling my writing because I can find anyone to make beats so I can make a complete cd and show it off. Someone people have hear my song already and told me that they like it I mean I am known but underground and now I am just trying to go main stream but I need something new so I need new beat and because I don't have no money to spend on beats I can put anything new out because I don't know anyone close by who could make my beats for free I am going to sell some of my work so that I can buy beats and it is only because people are asking when I am going to comeout with something new so that what I have to do to please the fans that I already have.

Are you saying we can hear them but we have to pay you to hear them? If so, no thanks.

Did you read anything I wrote?

Here are the facts. Millions of people are just like you, writing songs they think are amazing, and wanting to be famous. Actually becoming famous isn't easy. You have to put in the work, and the money, and even then it's not a guarantee. For every 10,000 people writing songs, 1 is lucky to sell one, even if they work at it 24/7 and spend thousands of dollars to get noticed. And even that 1 isn't a sure thing to be famous.

I'm not trying to squish your dream, I'm just telling you that the way you're going about it isn't going to work. No one is going to buy your song unless it's a hit. In order to prove it's a hit you'll have to spend the money to get someone to sing it, get the beats, and get it out there. Even then, it may flop. But if you want someone famous to sing your songs, that's the only way to make it happen.

No one is going to buy your songs, even for the cheap price of $50, just because you posted on the internet and said that you and a few other people think they're great.

Do you understand?

You need to get your song out there, to the whole world, and hope that someone that can help you get famous, sees your song, likes it and passes it on to someone famous. It's a long shot, but that's how you do it. Statistically, it's not a great career. You have to be great, and you have to be lucky. But posting on a Q & A site, instead of putting in the work, will definitely end in failure.

I have had 1,993 hit on a sound that I put on YouTube with my friends help and that was with in the first two hours and then next thing I knewt my friend took it off because he was hateing but I know a lot more people than that that like my music and I don't know how many fans I actually have because my friend took my song down the same day and I know when I go to my hometown the people out there treat me like I am already famous.

Get some simple instruments -- a drum or two, blocks, other percussion instruments -- and do beats while you rap out your songs. Post on YouTube -- it's free.

Why not put it back on YouTube?

Have you gotten any calls asking to buy your music because of that YouTube video?

If you have fans than ask them to pay for your music. That's when you know you're really famous, when they pay to hear what you write.

Public libraries love to find interesting programs. Your local library may LOVE to feature you and a small band performing for teens--and might even pay you for it, plus you could get fans that way. Ask about what the library would want you to do and how.
