My 18 yr old daughter was caught shoplifting. This was her first time shoplifting and was caught (for which I am thankful - scared the crap out of her). She was detained at the store until the Police came (2 hrs). They gave her a paper to call for signing up for the Elizabeth Fry diversion program.

She was not given a ticket or finger printed or removed from the store. If she completes what she is asked to do through the diversion program, does this mean there is nothing on her record?

Is this on her record now until she completes the diversion program?

It is on her record until she completes the diversion programme. BUT, the next time it happens it won't be so easy. She will have a record; so I hope she is suitably scared enough not to do it again.
