Hello, everyone. I don't think I need to make this long and I think I know what to do, but I thought I would hear what you all think!
I'm 25 years old and she's 19. We've been in a relationship for five months. Because of our jobs, we can only meet one day a week. For the past few weeks she has kept her distance, in person or over the phone. I approached her very gently and asked if she was still happy with our relationship, and if everything was okay. She agrees that she has been distant but ensured me several times that she is happy with me.
Then, I found out from her friends that she likes some guy she works with. Based on her behavior I had already figured this out, hence me asking if she was still happy with me.
She is a very sweet and caring girl that wouldn't dare hurt anybody if she could. But I believe she won't tell me because she doesn't want to hurt me. I really don't think she plans on breaking up with me, either.
So I'm thinking that I should tell her how I feel. Tell her that she's an amazing girl that I would have loved to spend my life with, but that's why I have to let her go. She says that she is happy with me, but I'm sure she's saying it because she's so sweet and gentle, but that only makes me hurt more when I'm disappointed repeatedly.
Of course I don't want to, and she doesn't seem to want to either, but wouldn't you agree that it would only hurt our relationship to stay like this? Or do you think there is anything else I could do? She says nothing is wrong.
