Tearjerker... think from the early 80s ( but not a definate) about a young barrow boy with a terminal illness who's last wish is to go to a fairground... his dad buys him a balloon and says "when its time, let go" the boy finally lets go and passes away?

You don't message him. He will see this and answer. There are several other good movie responders too. Please be patient.

Is this a British film?

Great film - a real tearjerker
22 July 2004 | by calico_demon (Manchester, England) – See all my reviews

I watched this film about 20 years along with another Italian release 'Last Feelings'. Both films are extremely powerful tearjerkers and were released together in the UK. They affected me so much that I think about them to this day and have recently been trying to track down copies of them - this seems to be impossible, but i still remember them quite vividly. I dare you to watch this film without shedding a tear. Especially the fairground scene at the end. Heartbreaking.
