View Full Version : Faa cutoff level for EtG

Hi

I'm currently in a program wherein the FAA advises I've got to take random Ethyl Glucoronide test throughout the year (15 in total).

The Doctor they recommend on this HIMS program (sorry, not sure what the acronym stands for) has issued me prescriptions for Quest Diagnostics # 16604
EtG test that has a cutoff of 100ng.

So my preface and then question is this: If eveyone seems to agree that 100ng is too low to correctly test for alcohol consumption because of contact to every day products (sanitizers, mouthwash, etc... ), does the FAA not consider results greater than 100ng as an automatic failing... or do they monitor to get spikes and then swoop in?

Sorry to ask, but I can't seem to get anything out of the FAA on this to answer
the question. I use about 3ml of Rogaine daily (vain, I know!) on my scalp and of course it contains alcohol and so of course I'm worried it'll triger a positive result, or, that is, a result in excess of 100ng.

Any answers would be helpful.
