We have a 5 year old home with a recirculating hot water pump. Our pipes are copper and have develop pin hole leaks after 3 and now 5 years in use. We also have a water softener. The plumber says that the water softener is the cause of the pin hole leaks. My question is: is there a more durable pipe we could use that won't develop pin hole leaks after 2 years of use?

Use CPVC or PEX. Easy to adapt to a copper pipe, will last forever.
