I have tried everything to deal with my pain of scoliosis. I am 20 years old. I was told I had scoliosis at age 19, but then said I had a pinched disk. Now they are very sure I have scoliosis. With my daily routine I lift a lot of stuff, but mostly my 7 month old son. The pain is getting worse. Now my question is how do you fix scoliosis? I am going to therapy again, pain management, and soon to be acupuncture. Therapy and pain management is not working. I feel like I am at my braking point. I don't want to rely on pain medication anymore.

There is no quick fix for scoliosis. It is a degenerative disease of the spine. Lifestyle changes, yoga, swimming, all help.

Have you tried chiropractic? Or shiatsu?

Chiropractor is absolutely the wrong choice. This spinal degeneration is genetic and it is important to know you family history to find out how it was dealt with and how severe the condition became before absolute intervention. And, to be quite truthful, this may never happen as long as guidelines are followed and steps are taken to strengthen supporting muscle groups, in particular, abdominal.

Swimming on a regular basis supports the muscle groups and this will reduce the pain from the bone malformation.

Learn about exercises that can improve posture and strengthen the muscles that support the spine (e.g. abdominal muscles). When detected early and treated appropriately, scoliosis may not progress or cause major disability.

My chiropractor did not adjust but did give my son a set of exercises (and showed him how to do them) plus checked him weekly.
